Recasting our "Terrible Twos"
So what happens within a perfectly born person who doesn't learn to fully engage a worklife?
at something valuable to himself?
to her family?
our neighborhoods?
our nation?
the world?
Humans beings display an inherent sense of INDUSTRY by age two. We allude to "the terrible twos" in our culture ... because toddlers want to do everything for themselves.
We need culturally to make a firm shift in parenting perceptions, ..and words:
this event in human development is not "terrible" it is in fact marvelous, monumental, psychosocially "on track," and to be welcomed, respected, nourished, honored.
You are one of the wisest and loveliest people I know. You are both brilliant and humble. You recognize and honor the "nature" of humanity without making it an "ultimate." You illuminate the beauty in our brokeness, as well as the hope in us- everyday- reaching our fullest potential. Thank you for being YOU...and for awakening our minds and spirits!
